Imaginary Friends Studios was founded by friends, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, one of the top artists on Deviantart.com with close to 6 million page; Kendrick “Kunkka” Lim, a game designer who worked previously at a Tokyo-based game studio; and Kai “Ukitakumuki” Lim, who at 19 had already art directed two major game mods for Half-Life 2 including Hull Breach and Nuclear Dawn.
Imaginary has grown to a stable of 30 full-time digital artists between its two studios in Singapore and Jakarta in only 5 years.
Some of the projects and properties handled by Imaginary include titles such as, Dragonlance Chronicles, GI Joe, Batman, Justice League, Superman, Exalted, Witchblade, Madam Mirage, Contra 4, F.E.A.R. NBA Street Basketball, Dungeons & Dragons, Powerpuff Girls, Call of Duty, DOTA, World of Warcraft, Warhammer, Soul Calibur 3 & 4, Street Fighter, Sleepy Hollow, Star Wars Galaxies, Legend of the Five Rings, Pathfinder, as well as promotional and licensing material for major motion pictures including Spiderman 3, Surf’s Up, and Batman: The Dark Knight.
The studio was also recently chosen to lead and create the concepts and designs for the multiplatform, Singapore-based animation LaMB animation project in collaboration with Animax and Peach Blossoms Media (Singapore).
Imaginary and its crew of artists continue to enjoy frequent cover and interior features with international art publications such as 2D Artist, ImagineFX, Artzmania,90+10 and international art annuals such as Spectrum, Exotic and Expose. The studio was even featured separately in FHM South Africa and FHM Singapore, in addition to appearances on television shows, radio segments and news programmes.
Co-founder / Creative Director
As Co-founder and Creative Director, Artgerm plays a vital role in both the operational and creative aspects of the business. He often finds himself dividing his time between creating great art, overseeing projects and meeting up with current or potential clients. Formally trained in visual communication and advertising, he is experienced and highly-capable in a wide range of creative skills; from digital painting, graphic design to digital imaging. Artgerm’s works have garnered much attention and a huge following of fans from around the world, and his art can be found in many publications such as Spectrum, Expose, ImaginaryFX, Corel Painter and Fusion Junction.

Demons, monsters and busty succubuses have been throwing rave parties in Kunkka’s head non-stop since he was old enough to need to shave, and he soon realized that the only way to stop them from turning his brain into mush is by expelling them out of his mind and onto paper photoshop. They’re still living la vida loca in his head and Kunkka is continually exorcising them, but after looking at what he’s able to create he’s not complaining anymore.
CWJ is a 25-year-old man/child who lives to draw hot chicks and in his spare time fights alien monsters dressed in an shiny, figure-hugging Ultraman jumpsuit.
Since the dawn of the millennium, the TKG Comic Circle has been providing quality comic programmes to groom comic talents and interests in Singapore.
Chub Tan, the charter of the TKG Comic Circle is known for his comic trilogy titled CAKE,COOKIE and CANDY (1999 – 2001). The original characters from this series Tata, Kiki and Gogo became the well-known mascots of the TKG Comic Circle. Nicknamed “The Mover” by the media, Chub is known for developing young talents who clinch top prizes in national comic competitions. The Comic Circle strengthens Singapore into becoming a hub for creativity and the arts.
